Each programmer must build in compensation for different screen sizes, different types of keyboards, different methods of input (touchscreen or not), different technologies allowed by each carrier, etc., etc. The Android may have more unlimited potential, but the limitations imposed on the iPhone by Apple make for a consistent programming environment and a consistent level of quality of user interface.
